Cinergy MetroNet Breaks Ground on Combination Retail Store and Video Operations Facility in Vincennes

Vincennes, IN (January 8, 2008) - Cinergy MetroNet, a cutting edge communications service provider, will officially break ground Thursday, January 17, at 10:30 a.m. on its 3,500-square-foot retail store and video operation facility to be located at 287 North 15th Street in Vincennes.

The construction of the building is part of a Cinergy MetroNet initiative to build and operate a multimillion dollar, state-of-the-art fiber network in Vincennes. The Cinergy MetroNet network will offer residential and business consumers unmatched high-speed Internet service, robust cable television programming, full-featured local and long distance phone service, and new broadband services, as they become available.

In response to Cinergy MetroNet’s announcement, Mayor Al Baldwin stated, "Vincennes is excited to have a new cable provider locating in our community. Cinergy MetroNet has expressed a desire to become an outstanding community partner, and we welcome their presence in our community."

The new building will act as Cinergy MetroNet’s primary customer service location in Vincennes. The innovative store design will allow customers to test drive Cinergy MetroNet services at interactive kiosks, sign up for new services, and pay their bills -- all in one location. Trained and knowledgeable customer service representatives will always be available to answer customer questions and account inquires.

The building will also serve as a network video programming facility. As such, it will be constructed with 6-inch concrete walls, seismic-resistant ceiling tiles, a self contained HVAC and a fire suppression system and will be capable of withstanding catastrophic weather conditions. The building will also act as a home for Cinergy MetroNet technical personnel.

Kevin Stelmach, Cinergy MetroNet Vice President and General Manager, explained the importance of the building to Cinergy MetroNet, "We are truly excited about becoming a part of the Vincennes community with this new facility. From this location we’ll be able to provide superior customer service on a first-name basis, while at the same time ensure that our customers receive the best and most reliable video services we can deliver.” Stelmach continued, “In short, this facility furthers our goal of providing services on par with those found in any big city, with a small town touch."
