FAQs

Can I get service at my house?
Cinergy MetroNet fiber is being networked throughout several Indiana cities. To get the latest info about availability at your address, just give us a call at 1-877-407-3224.

Do you provide 911 service?
Yes, Cinergy MetroNet service provides 911 support. However, if a power outage lasts longer than the battery life of the power supply included in the network device connecting you to our fiber network, you may lose the ability to call 911 until the power is restored.

Do you offer toll-free numbers?
Yes, personal toll-free and business toll-free services are available. You can choose to keep an existing toll-free number you already have through another provider or set up a new number. Available toll-free codes include 800, 888, 877 and 866.

Is my phone number listed in the phone book?
Cinergy MetroNet does not publish its own phone book, but your number will appear in the phone book that is currently available in your city.

Do you support fax lines?
Yes, your phone line will support fax machines.

Can I keep my existing phone number?
You can keep your existing home phone number. We're sorry, but we do not currently support porting cell phone numbers.

How does Cinergy MetroNet VoiceMail work?
Our VoiceMail service uses call forwarding to send messages to a dedicated private line where callers can leave you a message. This allows you to easily access messages from any telephone, anywhere!

Can I receive collect calls?
Cinergy MetroNet services do not support collect call acceptance at this time. You can use a third-party provider such as 1-800-Collect or 1-800-CallATT to make collect calls and be billed directly by that provider.

Can I have more than one phone number?
With Cinergy MetroNet fiber-based residential phone service you can have up to four telephone lines. Business customers can have additional lines, with "hunting" added if needed.

Do you support home alarm systems?
Certainly. Cinergy MetroNet telephone services work with alarm systems just as older, copper-based lines do. Please be aware though that your home alarm system will be down while we move your line from your current provider to us and, following conversion, should be tested by you and your alarm provider to ensure all is in order.

Do you offer call hunting?
Hunting is available to residential customers. Hunting (also known as "roll over") allows a customer to publish one number and, when that line is busy, have calls automatically roll to the next available line. The maximum number of lines for a residential hunt group is four (Commercial customers do not incur that limitation).

What happens if I move?
If you are moving to another home within the Cinergy MetroNet service area, please give us seven working days notice and we can set up your existing phone number at your new address. If you are moving outside of the standard service area, we can schedule a disconnect date for your current service and set up a referral that directs callers your new number, if you have one established.

How do you bill incremental long distance minutes?
Residential long distance is billed in full minute increments. For example: A 1-minute and 30-second call would be billed for two minutes.

Do you provide Directory Assistance?
