Outlook Express Setup Guide

Follow the steps below to set up your CinergyMetro.net email account within Outlook Express.
  1. Open Your Web Browser, Type webmail.cinergymetro.net into the address bar.
    Then login using your email address and password.
  2. Click Settings in the upper left hand corner
  3. Click on the Forwading and POP/IMAP Tab.
    Choose the options to enable both POP and IMAP.
  4. Click Save Changes.
    Now click Sign out in the upper right and close your web browser
  5. Open Outlook Express.
  6. Click the Tools menu, and select Accounts...
  7. Click Add, and then click Mail...
  8. Enter your name in the Display name: field, and click Next.
  9. Enter your full cinergymetro.net email address (example@cinergymetro.net) in the Email address: field, and click Next.
  10. For "My incoming mail server is a ______ server", please select POP in the drop-down menu.
  11. Enter pop.gmail.com in the Incoming mail (POP3, pop or HTTP) server: field.
    Enter smtp.gmail.com in the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: field.
  12. Click Next.
  13. Enter your CinergyMetro.net email address (including '@cinergymetro.net') in the Account name: field. Enter your CinergyMetro.net password in the Password: field, and click Next.
  14. Click Finish.
  15. Click pop.gmail.com (to highlight it) and click Properties.
  16. Click the Advanced tab.
  17. Under Outgoing Mail (SMTP), check the box next to "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)".
  18. Enter 465 in the Outgoing mail (SMTP): field.
  19. Under Incoming mail (pop), check the box next to "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)". The port will change to '995'.
  20. Click the Servers tab, and check the box next to "My server requires authentication".
  21. Click OK.
